I never got to fix my Baby Room…
Last week I told you about the moment I finally saw what was happening in my baby room. The conveyor belt that felt so wrong, but I just didn't have the answers to fix. And because life happened, I never did get to fix it.
You Can't Build What You Can't See
Picture a baby on the floor, reaching for a toy just out of reach. Ask ten experienced educators what they just watched, and you'll get ten good answers - and probably, not one of them the whole story. The development that makes a baby room outstanding is almost entirely invisible. And you can't intentionally build what you can't see.
I Thought I was Managing a Busy Nursery…
If you'd asked me back then how I was doing, I'd have smiled and said "busy". The truth was I was exhausted. And standing in that baby room day after day, rocking a baby that just wouldn't settle, I started seeing something I couldn't unsee.
